 Beema Palli is a muslim pilgrimage centre housing a shrine, on Beach Road, 5 km south west of the Railway station at Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala.. The Shrine here is dedicated to Beema Beevi, a Muslim woman believed to have divine powers and the festival is held in her memory. The Chandanakutam Maholsavam festival commemorates the death anniversary of Beema Beevi.The festival is celebrated in a grand manner with sandal paste being carried to the mosque in a procession.
Beemapally which is a suburb of Thiruvananthapuram (also known as Trivandrum), is right under the flight path of planes landing at the Thiruvananthapuram airport. During the festival, devotees bring money in pots decorated with flowers, incense sticks and sandalwood paste, as offerings. The mosque also houses the tombs of Syedunnisa Beema Beevi and Syedushuhadamaheen Abubacker.
The mosque at Beemapally is famous for the annual Urs. It is a good shopping area too. It is well connected by State Road Transport bus services from the East Fort. The nearest railway station is Thiruvananthapuram Central, about 8 km away.The nearest airport is the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, about 2 km away.
